/fit/ how do you deal with your shin splints? Keep in mind that I still have to run so I can't really stop and let them heal

run barefoot.

If you can switch between high impact cardio (jogging, sprints) and low impact (stationary bike, elliptical) until you're no longer feeling pain. You probably have poor form as well, so read up on that and critique yourself until you find a stride that works for you.

run in the grass for sure, maybe take longer strides

Run in the pool, run on sand or grass, crosstrain on a bike. Fill a Dixie cup with water, and freeze it to ice your shins after the run. It won't help, but it'll make the pain more bearable.
You don't have to run. You're just being a moron about it.
