I started exercising in December 2016, at the time I weighed 171lbs, I'm now weighing 160lbs and I'm feeling better.

Keep at it! You're doing great. Leg day is important because the muscle is what will give your legs a healthier shape regardless of fat % as you get leaner. Also, butt exercises.

I really think that if you did 30 minutes of cardio every other day. maybe some yoga on non cardio days and whatever maybe 4-8 exercises a day you would lose fast. but that's with a strict diet, meal prep, cal counting, etc. at a bare minimum you would probably have some bretty gewd results with just the cardio and diet.

it's one of those things though. they say diets 80% exercise is 20. dont skip meals, gym days, or cheat meals. but, it's just your butt at the end of the day.

New femanon here. I'm 5'4 and around 132 lbs and have lost 25 pounds in the last 3 months. I've cut nearly all carbs, only drink water, and have been doing light weights 4-6 times a week + 2 mile long fast paced walks everyday, but now I feel like I've slowed down and I'm down to mostly visceral fat so I'm going to start lifting more and adding more protein. I've read the sticky, but most of the exercises seem to require barbells,which I don't have, and the amount of weight recommended seems like more than I can currently handle, but idk how to determine what would be right for my size. Currently I've been doing mostly squats, arm curls, and lunges with 12 pound dumbells, 30 times each,and for lunges and curls 30 per limb, plus a 60 second hold. I want to get serious now, but I feel stuck. Also, I'm trying to get more protein in my diet but eating my weight in protein seems like a lot. I usually only eat two meals which consist of 3 eggs with a mushroom for breakfast and .25 lbs turkey or chicken breast for dinner plus Greek yogurt or a small protein bar as a midday snack, but I'm trying to add a 3rd meal since I started eating fish and bought protein powder and want to accelerate my weight loss with protein. But the max I can picture myself managing to eat is 70-80 grams which is only a little over half the recommended amount. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Be sure to accurately account for calories and amounts you eat, extra calories slip in really easily and build up fast. That should be the right amount of calories for you. As for calories burned exercising, its always less than you think and its usually easier to just not consider it as part of your diet.

As for gyms, the best one is the most convenient one that you will go to consistently. Its hard for one to be wrong for a beginner and its more important that you show up than have optimal equipment and routines

Used to be ~165, went to a military school and got down to 130 in 3-4 months

I didn't count calories per se but the food was shit and a hassle so I had a very small breakfast (usually just a bagel or some chopped up potatoes), no lunch and a small dinner (some stir fry or small serving of meat, veggies and rice)

Organised exercise was ROTC PT twice a week - 2 hrs one day, 1 hr another
Hour or so of PT most Saturdays
All mostly calisthenics and running, stadium stairs, etc
And there was lots of other impromptu little workouts and obstacle course PT
