Hey /fit/ so I haven't worked out in a long time and decided to get back into weight training.
Is starting strength a good way to start back in? Has any gains been recorded with this program? This is my day 1 of beginner SS.
Thoughts?
Yes it is a great way to get into strength training and make fast progress.
It depends what you are expecting by "gains". If you mean an aesthetic body from SS alone, probably not, but that is due to SS being designed to last a few months, and literally no routine will produce an aesthetic body in that time, but few will produce such fast strength gains.
I started with SS and I think I look pretti gud

Will it help me cut weight with me watching my intake?
I kinda am pudgy now so I'm starting to cut today. Should I add cardio into this? Like running a mile or something?

I use to deadlift up too 425lb. And my squats up to 325 about a year n a half but I get scared when squatting without someone watching bc I don't wanna fuck my shit up or look retarded if I overdo it.
