Is there a doctor in the house?
I have this hard bump that suddenly formed in the roof of my mouth, off center. It's red and I can feel it with my tongue- it feels hard but is not painful. Google would have me believe it's Torus palatinus... a bony growth on the roof of the mouth. However it looks kinda different than the pictures. I dont have health insurance and can't afford to see a doctor about this. Can anyone help a brotha out?

I should have circled it in the picture- it's on the left side of the picture- right side of my mouth. In line with the third tooth from the back. It's a reddish hard bump
bump (no pun intended)
Give it a week to ascend. It's probably a tumor. It can be cancer but if it doesn't hurt or swell up more and nothing leaks out of it jist leave it alone. If it prevails months I'd advose to go straith for the cut out, but you'll have to diagnose ot sometime professionaly. People can't tell what it is just by looking. You'll have to get some cells analyzed.

See a doctor, oh wait youre American.
Sounds like a palatal tori.
How quickly did it grow?
Still growing?
Do you smoke?
Probably related to a sinus infection though if it's come on that quickly.
Doctor here, but disclaimer is to always seek direct medical advice over any health concern. It looks like a mucocele. You have hundreds of small salivary glands on the roof of your mouth, if one gets blocked the mucous (saliva) becomes 'retained'. This will be felt as a hard lump. I have had one myself, went away after about ten days or so. You may notice it is slightly less prominent first thing in the morning as your mouth naturally dries out.

Continued: You'll notice most google images relating to mucocele show them on the lips or inside cheeks. This is simply because these are far more prominent and likely to be revealed to clinicians. Rest assured I'm sure it's a mucocele. You can see a dentist if it doesn't clear up in a few weeks.
