Is it true that masturbation kills gains? I'm a skinny shit trying to gain muscle weight but I heard masturbation fucks that up. I tried going cold turkey but it's so hard to abstain when there's so much temptation out there.

No. Broscience aside, any effect is negligible, whether it is for positive or negative.

That said, keep it in moderation. A wank a day isn't going to ruin your progression. If you're going at it like, 10 times and after or before you are working out, then it could have a plausible effect, but I have yet to see or read any study done about any effect it has one way or another that was proven empirically.

What does kill gains is not eating enough or the right food, and not getting proper sleep and rest.

What does help muscle gains is working your muscles and eating properly and getting proper rest. The rest is up to you, your genetics and other outside factors.

For OP, there are no studies that really show long-term effects on testosterone for individuals that stop masturbating. There are other perks like energy and increased partner-seeking behavior (which leads to more 'perceived confidence'), but there are also benefits to fapping. An orgasm, for instance, decreases your levels of free cortisol by a large margin, something that could hinder your progress if your lifestyle is stressful.

Do it and see how it affects you.
