Would I still see gains if I did starting strength twice a week? I have a free gym at my work but I only do two 24 hour shifts weekly
If you're an absolute novice you'll see gains doing anything, but you'll stall hard after a few weeks
Twice a week is perfectly fine, more recovery.
Don't overthink it, get off /fit/ and just do it. Stick to the two a week for a year then come back here.
Yeah, I'm a complete begginner and I get gains wether I work out once or 6x a week. Obviously the more you work out the more you progress.

You can buy only a barbell and plates, no bench or other equipment, and do squats, pullups and bench on work days and deadlifts, rows and OHP in your house.
But buying a barbell for 1 day is kind of a waste.
You could also do lower days in the gym and upper days with calisthenics (no equipment) at home.

>two 24 hour shifts
Nigger what? What do you do for a living?
No, you need to hit a thresh hold of weightlifting before you get any gains. In fact, if you don't do starting strength exactly how it's written to the letter, it is impossible to have any gains. It's better to sit in front of a computer cause at least you can be productive then.
God that blows. I pull a 24 hour shift once a month and im fucked for days after.

I bet a million shekels that he's a firefighter
you could incoporate a body weight routine on a third day to make up for it. or maybe try lifting once before work and again after if youre not too tired.

That would make sense

Yeah, if you do full body on each day, don't skip days and keep increasing weights.
