Does your ability to recover fast from DOMS depend on caloric intake?
If I eat at a surplus will I recover fast than if I eat at a deficit? (not an extreme deficit, just 500 or so)
pic unrelated

not from doms specifically but more calories does aid recovery
i'm only speaking from personal experience though.

I was wondering about this as well

Yeah i think we all know that but I'm more interested in knowing if I can make my DOMS go away faster by eating at a surplus for a few days.

Doms is something you only experience early in lifting or after a hiatus. It's a lot like calluses for playing guitar, there isn't much info on dealing with them b/c most people only experience it 3/4 times (at least with calluses, doms probably a bit more but only a few really bad ones).
My advice is try hot and cold baths, staying hydrated is also a good idea. You're mostly just trying to remove lactic acid from your muscles.

This.
Caloric surplus will do almost nothing for DOMS. Focus on stretching and relaxing muscles.
However, in terms of general recovery then yes you will recover slower on a deficit. A small surplus is ideal (200-300 calories) which is where the 'bulking' meme comes from.

Not sure
Currently bulking and receiving less doms but it might also just be conditioning of the muscles

don't listen to broscience, there's plenty in this thread.
