Does it matter what time you go to sleep as long as you get 8 hours of it?
Like for example if you go to sleep at 4 am and wake up at 12 pm does it hurt your gains in any way?
Physically no, but it can affect you mentally and socially not being on the same schedule as the rest of the world including the sun.
why would it? depends on your sleep routine I guess. If you always sleep from 4 to 12, there should be no problem. or do you have a werid sleeping rhythm where you stay awake 10 hours and another day 16 etc.?

Yes it does actually. But I am not too sure if hormone secretion is dependent on your body's circadian rhythm.
Studies show that having an irregular sleep schedule worsens your cognitive abilities and the ability to learn new things.
With the latter study, I would think that maybe the endocrine system is affected as well but I havn't researched this to talk about it.
Look at any study done on shift workers who sleep during the day, its not good for you and if your bedroom lets in sunlight thats also fucking up the quality of your sleep.
It fucks with the circadian rhythm
But the first thing you should do when you wake up is go outside and get some natural light on your skin, for at least 15 minutes
I am asking because until now I have been going to sleep at 4 and waking up at 12 so I wanted to fix it
But now when I go to sleep early i wake up an hour or two later and can't fall back asleep

I was told by a physiology professor to drink a full cup of water first thing in the morning. I forgot his reasoning but he did go into great detail as to why its important.

i hate when im on a fucked schedule and i gotta sleep only cause the suns coming up because of how much i hate having sunlight in my room trying to go to bed

Thats because your trying to change your circadian rhythm again. I don't think you are harming anything by having a different sleep schedule since you are consistent with it. It would matter if your sleep schedule was irregular throughout the week.

>Tfw I work night shifts
Never going to make it

Probably because you haven't drank any water for 8+ hours and that's assuming you had a glass before bed.

So it won't harm my diet and muscle building if I continue my usual sleeping pattern?

No it shouldn't. At least from what I know and read. As long as you keep a consistent sleep schedule, your body should function normally. Its only when you try to change that circadian rhythm where problems start to surface.
