I need a bit of help regarding my calories.
>TDEE is 2060
>for the past three years my average daily calorie intake has been no more than 1400
>dropped 40lbs in the first few months, then plateau
>drop to 1200 while also working out 5 times a week, solidly for five months
>nothing other than losing a few inches, zero weight loss
>cardio, lifting and logging all food
I can't cut anymore calories, so I've decided to slowly increase to my BMR (1800), maintain for a few weeks while still exercising, then reducing to 1500.
Is this a good idea or am I just going to gain a load of weight that becomes impossible to drop?
Stop eating.

I'd like to do this but I don't think it's doable in the long term.
Although I guess it I died and became a skelly, I wouldn't feel fat anymore. Maybe I could give it a go.
Have you had any refeed days in there? When I did my stupidly steep cut, I had a massive bowl of rice every friday that would make me hit my standard daily intake. Kicked my system up a notch, and helped me burn through the fat a bt better imo.
Otherwise, spend a month or two at maintenance, and let your body get used to its new self, then start slowly cutting down the calories again.
Also, hit the qtddtot or /fat/

Not really. Occasionally I'd have a holiday or a take away on a weekend but generally I'd fix it into my calories for the day. I started to realise something wasn't right when I hit four months and saw nothing, despite adding in the cardio and lifting. This is my last option because other than this, I can't think of anything else I might be doing wrong.

it's doable for as long as you have fat

you need to increase your muscle mass to increase your metabolism. otherwise you need to increase your cardio (intensity or volume)
