Used to aim for 6 hours because I wanted more time in the day, but moved up to 7 and it significantly improved brain and muscle performance and increased my productivity throughout the day

Depends. Now that uni is over i do get my 8 hours, maybe even 10, 12 if im lucky. But when i have class the next day, from 4 to 6.

im a little older than you only need 7.5-8.5 naturally
but yea love great sleep pattern but if left to my own devices after few weeks will be nocturnal again. i just like being awake when everyone else is sleeping, either early in the morning but once that goes then late at night
