That would only be temporary weight gain until the body is able to shit, sweat or pee it out. Most of the high mass foods that are low in calories are full of water and fiber. The mass of high mass low calorie food gets expended rapidly and only the calories can be used to increase the body's mass permanently through adding fat or muscle mass.

Try it out right now. weigh yourself, drink a liter of water and weigh yourself again. Do you think that one kilogram you gained was fat, muscle or just water, that will be expended shortly?

Also, boogie isn't eating high water, high fiber foods, he's eating high fat, high sugar foods, which are chuck full of calories in relation to their mass.

I've been reading a pretty interesting book on the working of the gut. Basically there are different microbes that eat different things, and if you eat too much of one particular thing (say, sugar) then your gut will be overpopulated by sugar-eating microbes. These tiny little fuckers will then synthesise chemicals that trick your brain into craving MORE sugar, which is why fat people have so much trouble keeping weight off - their microbes are out of whack and are literally fucking with the body's hormonal responses to food.
Because these microbes play a huge role in digestion (like more than 50% of breaking down food) having the right balance in the gut makes a huge difference to the amount of food ACTUALLY absorbed by the body. So calories in / calories out is often not true as vastly different amounts of nutrients can be absorbed from the same meal by different people.
Pretty new stuff, btw. Not a lot of doctors (even nutritionists) are familiar with this field yet.
