For real, part of making it is, and this will sound little autismo - that you need to appreciate your progress. Lot of people ale blabbering about self-improvement, but will never be happy with the results, because they don't see actual positive changes. Making it isn't some finish line, where there is degenerate 2D waifu waiting. Quite the opposite, it's the journey that matters most. You need to love yourself and be happy with the work you are putting in. You need to feel positive about changing yourself, instead of waiting for the happiness on the finish line, because you will never get there in the latter.
