I'm only up to a one plate bench and am a skinny fat bastard. I want to cut and not be disgusted with myself but also want to get up to a 2 plate bench.
A mini cut seems like a waste of time.
So I continue to eat at a 300 surplus and hope my tits go away or say fuck it and cut.

Was in the same dilemma as you. Was at (lbs 5x5) 105/135/205/275 @ 193 lbs 5'7" at the time.
Decided to cut to skelly, currently on my way there and way more happy with my body. Lifts went to 120/165/245/315 @ 152 lbs bw but this was over the course of 6 months, still probably have 10 more lbs to go.
Cut while doing bodyweight exercises and sprint training. And by cut I mean only veggies and meats and eggs.
It's what I'm doing right now and I'm seeing amazing results in just two weeks

The only problem is the guide you can download that has you eating 1.2-1.5 grams of protein/lb of bodyweight.
The most efficient amount is .82, at most is 1 if you're on a cut

Stop being a pussy and push harder. A 2pl8 bench is not strong. Easily achievable in 8 months or less. One of my marines has been goinf to the gym solo and never pushed more than 1pl8. I took him with me today and put on 185 for him. Told him to push for his life because im not spotting him. Got it up 3 times before I had to help. Push yourself and push the bar. Its easy.
