My family had an Asian doctor a few years back that was hellbent on convincing my Dad and I that all we needed to stay in shape was go on long walks and eat stir-fry (I think his was pleo). Every time we went to him there was a chance he would launch into a 20 minute ramble about how all the weight lifting would destroy our joints and how we would both have beer guts once we hit 60. I just found him annoying, but he really pissed my Dad off because you can't work as a cop that beats the manshit out drug runners on a daily basis by following the training regimen of an elderly Japanese woman.

This 100%. Unless I need surgery or a prescription, I don't bother going. Even then, I prefer the minute-clinic places where the nurse prac can just write you a prescription.
