Do chinup/pullups work the same muscles as rows? or is it different, and i should do both?
>>41909067
They work the same muscles, yes, but how much each is activated varies. You should absolutely do both. Superset chinups with ohp and rows with bench.
rows are horseshit and i hurt my lumbar everytime. spoke to alot of people with same issue. machine rows are fine i guess and t bar rows

Horizontal rowing can work rear delts, rhomboid, and lats as opposed to vertical rowing which works almost entirely lats. You should have both at a 1:1 ratio in your routine.

>Superset chinups with ohp and rows with bench
No that's retarded
>>41909848
It's not retarded, but it's only advisable if you're doing an upper/lower split. Bench press and barbell rows are opposite movements. The back muscles used in rows are used in bench press for stabilization, and vice versa. Kinda the same with pullups and ohp, squats and deadlifts.

Nothing hits my rhombros better than rows, and I always do shitups for lats. Do dumbell shrugs to hit your traps, and rear delt dumbell raises, for rear d's. Deadlift for lower back.

fuck you dumb fucker barbell row is my favorite excercise
>>41909812
>rows are horseshit
Good with this so far
>and i hurt my lumbar everytime
As Elliot would say, fix yourself before you blame the movement. As nuts as he is, he's right about that.
Lots of people complain about X movement saying it hurts. Lots of people aren't as good as they think they are, whether it be mobility or form or strength. You spoke to a lot of people in this category and are probably ignoring way more people who have no problems with rows.
But again, not advocating rows. They're probably in my top three most overused movements in the gym. So many people do them just to do them.

what are the other 2 overused exercises
>>41909812
Barbell row is god tier, manlet.

Pullups are fucking amazing for back but you should be able to do a lot reps with bw and be able to do them weighted
Pullups > Pendlay Rows.
Chinups are shit for back.
>>41909739
While pullups activate the lats and biceps, a wide, pronated grip on barbell rows will activate the rhomboids, mid traps, posterior deltiods, and biceps.
Both are important.
Also, learn to follow the fibers, learn your anatomy, it will help you understand how your muscles work and how best to activate them.

I hate machine rows and barbell rows, no matter what I dont feel like im doing them right. I do db rows and like them. I think Pullups, machine pulldowns, and db rows will give you a well rounded back.
Barbell rows are for pussies who don't want to do Pendlays. Machine shit makes it too easy to lean back.
Do both pull ups and chin ups, especially pull ups for them lats.

Says the twink who can't even row 120kg x 5 supersetted with a 120kg x5 bench.
