Depends. Some people can have decent abs without ab work, others can't. If you're lifting decently heavy and sporting a low body fat % and still can't see ab definition you want, add ab work to your routine.

Your picture is crap but in my opinion you should incorporate some ab exercise where your core is actually in motion/twisting instead of just static strength.

no squats and deadlifts are not an ab workout not at all. the abs work just like any other muscle and they respond to resistance training. the dumbfuck fitness community is always training to generalize issues and force them onto everyone. if someone has abs and doesn't target them they have genetics and low bf% nothing more.
