Hey /fit/ , novice lifter here,

5'9 160lbs 17bf%

Im currently doing SS and i've done amazing progress on strenght both on upper and lower body, haven't deloaded once yet and i was wondering if i could loose maybe 1-3%bf while still making progress, i heard that cut/bulk doesn't apply to dyels, but i'm not sure if that's a meme or not. I've added some upper body volume exercises (incline BP, DB flies, lat pulldown because i am too weak to do pull ups) so I don't end /trexmode/. But all that shit aside I'm here to ask you a question

Can you make strenght gains while loosing fat? (With proper protein intake, sleep and diet. )

At 17% bf yes from my experience. Once you get below 15% it becomes harder afaik. Though the literature suggests you can keep making gains while cutting until 10% bf from what have read.

High intensity training might help a little, try resting between sets for not more than half a minute and between different exercises around 1.5-2 minutes.
You'll basically be doing cardio while lifting.

Also, do more legs/back because they burn more calories.

I guess that your body tries to use the least amounts of reserves possible when looking for fuel and energy for your muscles, but I'll give it a try, I like to do all compounds, except for OHP, I still can't get the hang of it, I always try to rest between 1 min and 1:30 between sets so muscles don't relax too much, I've read that cardio after lifting is the best way to burn fat since you use your glycogen reserves for your muscles during your workout and everything that you didn't use (plus some fat) is burnt by doing cardio.
