You go in, workout, and leave like everybody else. Most people feel a little self-conscious starting at the gym, but after a few times you realize nobody pays that much attention to others.

Most people at gyms are friendly, so if you need a form check starting just ask whoever you see doing squats or deadlifts to make sure you're not doing anything wrong.
