Is lots of sleep necessesary in order to make gains? I don't sleep a lot so I'm wondering if I would make more progress if I slept more

Can't fall asleep before 2-3am but wake up 10-11 so I get around 8 hours of sleeping

There might be something in saying that light levels affect certain hormone levels slightly, but I wouldn't imagine it would make a significant difference to the average person, and you can block out the sunlight if you need to anyway.

I think light is the problem,but the other way around. I live pretty high up north and it's bright during nights, never had trouble falling asleep during summer when I was younger.

I just go through periods of months or so at a time where I have to be dog-tired to drift off. is getting into sleepy mode to begin with that I struggle at, once I'm gone I'm gone.
