OP here. I don't have a gym membership. But I have dumbbells, an elliptical, and a bar. Can I get an adequate workout with these things?

Easily stay in shape with body weight exercise, dumbbell and barbells will help too. Obviously cardio too. You won't look like Arnold after 2 weeks of training so don't be deluded

Don't worry. not aiming for Arnold. Just don't wanna be a fat fuck.

A couple tips for dieting without gym membership
1. Buy a fitbit. I know it's a meme here, but honestly it's very good if you're only looking to shed weight.
2. Calculate calories in vs calories out. It's the only thing that really matters in weight loss. Again, /fit/ will rave on and on about your macros and whatnot - but trust me, as long as you are cutting around 1000 calories a day you WILL lose weight and you will see results
3. Go for jogs and/or long walks in your free time. Not sure where you live, but take advantage of the fact that it's summer and you can get easy free cardio outside.
I was in a similar boat as you last year, went from 215 to 175 as a 5'9" dude. I still ate like complete shit - but just ate less of it. Instead of gorging on a large pizza in one sitting, I'd eat a 1/2 of a medium pizza one day and save it for the next. You can do this man. Calories in vs calories out.
OP here. I've heard before that its pointless to workout right before bed. Is that true?
I live in Vegas and it is 100+ degrees outside almost everyday this time of year. So I would want to workout later in the evening.
Also lets switch this to a general thread for newfags/beginners.
