Have I fucked up? Ive seen so many YouTube videos of failed spots. I mean I would have done it at 2 pl8 but 3 I don't think I could hold.

There probably would have been no problems but your concern is understandable, especially if you haven't spotted before.
Spotting isn't really about holding the weight btw. It's more about helping the guy rack/unrack and being there in case the benchbro is about to fail a rep, in which case you help him lock out by pulling the weight which is not that hard.
