Tried some BTN press with 40kg (I do 50k regular OHP for 6 reps so I didn't think that would be too much) and now I have some soreness and mild pain in one of my rotator cuffs. I always thought my shoulder mobility was very good but obviously not. What do?

Don't do BTN press. It's inferior to OHP and will cause injuries.

How is this worth making a thread

>BTN
They literally proved these were inferior, don't ever put the bar behind your neck except for squats

Who's ''they'' and where is their study proving it?
Yeah you went too heavy.
Half your OHP working weight is a better idea.
BTN press is a good exercise, but you have to treat it carefully, and you didn't.
Don't listen to the DYELs calling it a worthless exercise. They are just parroting what every other DYEL says because a few morons hurt themselves going too heavy.
When done right, BTN press gives the best ROM of any exercise that focuses the middle delts.

This
It's a super functional lift, when I was in the army PT lifting was literally OHP ROHP until failure.
If you can't ROHP what you OHP then you've neglected part of your strength conditioning.

Went to heavy like an idiot plus it was the first time you ever tried the lift. what did you think was going to happen?
BTN press are also called klokov presses and theyre GOAT for hypertrophy on back delts

>Tfw the inverse.
>Can do 1 pl8 behind the head for reps without sweating.
>40kg OHP destroys me.
