Is contracting your legs to purposefully get cramps good or bad for you?
It hurts but once the pain stops it feels better than before. Like you stretched. What happens here and is it good or bad for you?

It's quite literally the opposite of stretching. While not harmful in itself, it's certainly not beneficial in any way.

Okay thanks

It's a gains hack. By contracting those fibers, you are simulating enough tear to undergo anabolism.
Figure this would be the best place to post
> At the gym for the first time in a week
> Figure I want a stronger base so I deload on all my lifts and do more reps
> Overexert myself, get dizzy and lightheaded, walk out the gym to get a breather
> Go back in rerack weights, figure the worst of it is over, leave gym
> Begin walking to Bio research lab
> Calves suddenly cramp, insane pain
> Try to power through it, I'm almost to the lab
> The more I fight, the more it hurts, like the lasso from Wonder Woman
> Just give in and collapse where I stand
> Lay on the ground for about 15 minutes before the pain mostly subsides
> Left calf still hurts
Can anyone explain what happened?
