anyone here ever get lightheaded from lifting? is it normal? i seem to get lightheaded every time i lift heavy around 8 reps and it takes me a couple minutes to stop feeling that way

In what? When used to do heavy deadlifts I would get that feeling. But it would go away after a few breaths. Unless I was doing doubles or something. I used to get it from squating but going to low bar basically fixed that. Make sure you breath deep but slow. Use your nose not your mouth

Three possible causes:
>not enough water
>pushed yourself too hard
>not enough energy aka didn't eat breakfast before lifting
It happened to me before. It is gone now. I drink plenty of water, built my endurance, and eat my breakfast about one hour before start lifting.

usually squats every time without exception. never happens with chest or back, sometimes overhead press

Many times with deadlifts.
I find myself leaning against the rack for a couple moments after my sets.

yeah deadlifts and squats do it for me, which i guess makes sense because they are the largest muscles but i think its more the motion because even without weights i can make myself lightheaded by squatting and standing up straight too fast
