Yea buddy, I ran two at 18 and 19 years old. Trained for about 4 months, the first time I had never ran more than a 10k and the first training run was 10 miles, it went fine. If you're serious find your local distance running group and sign up for whatever race they're training for.

I ran one when I was 19. They're not as bad as people make them out to be. If you're serious then look around online for a plan.
