Explain the 1/2/3/4 meme to me. What is the weight of the plates I should be using.
45's
OHP=135lbs
Bench= 225lbs
Squat= 315lbs
Deadlift=405lbs

It's 1pl8 OHP, 2pl8 bench, 3pl8 Squat, and 4pl8 deadlift.
You have to use the 25 kg plates for that, though. So, for the 1pl8 OHP, it's 50kg in total (you don't add on the bar). In americunt units, it's 110.1 lbs.

>Not adding the bar

So 25 or 45?

Oh, I see now.

Don't listen to him. The only thing that matters is the 25kg plates.
The red plates is the standard across all serious events

135 OHP (1pl8)
225 Bench (2pl8)
315 Squat (3pl8)
405 Deadlift (4pl8)
I always felt the 1/2/3/4 thing was kinda iffy
namely that getting to one plate OHP really isn't that hard at all, where as just getting past 175 in bench seems to be trouble for most unless they start eating a lot more and do a lot more bench/arms/chest work in combination with more benching in their workouts.
