My doctor told my my thyroid hormone was SLIGHTLY high, so does that mean I have an increased metabolism? I'm fat, but losing weight should be slightly easier, correct?

>muh thyroid
stop your excuses and start lifting you weakling shit

what does that have to do with my metabolism?
>>
Medfag here. I spent some time training with an endocrinologist (i.e. the hormone specialists). I knew a bunch of retards on the Internet use "muh thyroid" as an excuse, so I asked him "Sir, how much weight gain or weight loss can be attributed to thyroid dysfunction?" His answer was 5lbs. Specifically, he cited an example where a lady's TSH was hundreds time the normal limit, as would be in a hypothyroid state. When that was normalized with thyroid supplement, she lost 5 lbs. I saw a follow-up patient who had stable Grave's disease (a hyperthyroid state). When I compared her weight from before she went on the meds and now when she was euthyroid, she had gained 7lbs, I think.

In short, your thyroid doesn't stop you from being a fat fuck. You know what will? Calorie deficit, drinking water, and getting your ass in the gym.

no, my question is since my thyroid hormone is slightly high, is my metabolism higher than it would be naturally and will losing weight be slightly easier?

Did you autists not read his post?

To answer your question, yes, hyperthyroidism increases your metabolic rate and essentially speeds up the process of numerous bodily functions. But, this isn't basically a free pass. It won't do all of the work for you.

slightly high means about 50-100kcal a day more burned which is basically nothing
realy bad cases are in the range of 300kcal

to answer your question, yes you burn a slight amount more, no you cant stuff your face with food and claim your condition will take care of it
>>
>>41764659
No, not really.

Unless you're producing amounts in excess it won't make a difference. I produce test outside the natty range and I find it hard breaking a 3 plate atg squat.

Did you read his anecdote and not glean ANY information relevant to your own situation?

okay, thanks
