Well... I'm not a pro like some people here, but I really think that proper free weight workouts are more effective. It probably depends on what your goals are. If you just want to lose some weight and get in shape, both are fine alternatives. But if you want to maximize efficienty, you should just go ahead and get a gym membership.

A real gym and a real workout will net you real gains.
Bodyweight meme exercises are a waste of your time.

well they are better than nothing if the alternative is sitting on a computer all fay getting zero exercise.
but yes a gym is absolutely on another level when it comes to results

Proper bodyweight training is just as good or better than lifting depending on your goals.
You should lift if your goals are
>mass
>raw strength
>moving external loads
You should do bodyweight if your goals are
>mastery of movement
>mobility
>isometric core strength
>saving money
You will gain aesthetics, strength and lose weight with both types of training. Keep in mind that they aren't mutually exclusive either. You don't have to pick one or the other.

Ya dude, just throw on your 300lb weight vest and do some squats. Put on that 400lb weight vest and hit some deads.
Are you fucking retarded?
