I've got a bunch of (related?) problems I'm hoping someone here can help with. Please bear with me a minute.
I have snored horribly for as long as I can remember. I've had what feels like year-round allergies, worse in the spring, for pretty much my entire life. I've had polyps dug out of my nose (didn't really help) I am on allergy injections (keeps my nose from constantly running, doesn't do anything about congestion) and STILL I wake up breathing through a mouth full of rancid spit most mornings, because my nose is 3/4 plugged.
I was convinced to have a sleep study done, and was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Except I'm never groggy or dozing off like they describe. When I sleep, I don't wake up in the middle of the night. I can take a long time to go to sleep, unless I sleep during the day. (10pm to 6am? Miserable. 10am to 6pm, or almost any other schedule? I sleep like a baby.)
Now, getting answers out of my doctors is like pulling teeth. They never seem to want to volunteer treatment options unless I start beating them over the head with my medical history to remind them that everything they've tried so far just isn't working. Even then they shuffle me around, and I am really tired of their shit.
In a few months, I'm going to see an ear/nose/throat specialist.
What do I ask him about? What do I emphasize? What worked/didn't work for anyone here with similar problems?
