I squat 455 (not 405x10, obviously), and my calves are small as fuck. If I weren't wearing shorts that showed my quads, you would think my legs are tiny.

OP you need to stand on your toes while lifting half of your normal squat weight.

be careful tho it might fuck you up so first test your limits.

when you squat your thigh will do all the lifting.
when you stand on your toes your calves get all the weight.

Maybe just walk stairs on your toes, or stand for 5 minutes on your toes rest 10 minutes repeat.
i have 18 inch calves on because of that.

You probably are not that experienced in muscle anatomy assessment, especially if he was low BF%, which he most likely was. Also intramuscular tension, core activation, technique are things that are hard to spot for a novice lifter.

I have never squatted above 2 plate and my legs are 26" lean, which may not be t-rex but atleast 4" above average as I have trouble finding jeans
