how strong do you think you should be before you start mainly using other progressive overload techniques than adding weight? meaning dropsets, decreasing rest periods, adding more volume
>>
>Rest periods
Rest periods should stay the same 24/7/365

>Volume
Volume should be increased for a period of time, then decreased, you cant just keep on adding more and more volume forever, it doesn't work. Even if you could just keep adding volume and getting more and more gains (you can't) you would end up at a point where you're doing 1000 sets to stimulate growth.

>Drop-sets
Drop-sets should only ever be used on final meme exercises like curls face-pulls or something, not on main big boy lifts.

>Adding weight
Adding weight should be handled the same way you handle volume. 2 steps forward, 1 step back, etc.

Example

Week 1 Bench = 225 x 3 x 10
Week 2 Bench = 230 x 3 x 9
Week 3 Bench = 235 x 3 x 8
Week 4 Bench = 240 x 3 x 7
REPEAT
Week 1 Bench = 230 3 x 10
Week 2 Bench = 235 x 3 x 9
Week 3 Bench = 240 x 3 x 8
Week 4 Bench 245 x 3 x 7

Nom sayin brah?

decreasing rest periods is conditioning bruh

Rest pause is good for bodyweight shit, useless for everything else.
Drop sets are unnecessary, unless you're doing isolatin work particularly bicep/shoulder/tricep isolations.

i've seen bodybuilders doing dropsets after benching 4 pl8 for reps

Yeah fucking Bob Memequist up there doesn't know how real bodybuilders train. Training to failure and using drop sets is very helpful for major lifts. Training the major lifts in powerlifting range is useful for one thing, and that's powerlifting. Dropset on bench when you've got the endurance for some serious volume and tell me your tits aren't growing.

1-5 minutes for heavy lifts.
30s-1m for warmups

Rest times only matter if you're actively trying to induce more metabolic stress for whatever reason.

Rest pause is excellent for excercises which are hard to load(like pullups or dips) that you can do for a lot of reps.
>>
>>41738330
no, decreasing rest periods is an effective method of progressive overload.
