Is running 5-6 days a week (about 3 miles or 5 km a stretch) bad for your joints or am I getting memed once again?

Monitoring.
Is running on a treadmill better or worse for your joint than concrete? I feels like it's easier on my knees. I've been using the stationary bike for sprints for 13 minutes then using the treadmill for 7 minutes at the end of my workouts, five or six times a week and I feel like this is fairly low impact compared to running outside for twenty minutes.

Also since I'm now running on the gym treadmill, I use chucks instead of running shoes, is this gonna be a problem for my feet somehow?
/fit/ seems to not know anything about cardio

only thing I can say about this is that you probably shouldn't run in chucks, flat shoes can cause issues if you run in them long term

Yes

Running shoes are a 20th century invention, how did they run before?
>>41700479
In chucks of course

You should have a dedicated pair of shoes you use only for running. Running in a shoe wears the sole a certain way, different from the wear that would occur from walking in it. If you run in a shoe after walking in it, it could mess up your gait and result in injury.

Cycling, swimming, or using an elliptical are all much safer for your joints, if that's a concern of yours.

Running is as bad for your knees as driving is for your engine. Being fat and immobile is bad for your knees.

Just run outside. I also wouldn't meddle with cycling and running unless you are a triathlete. You have no muscular purpose to ride a bike and then run. As a triathlete, it really fucking hurts to go from cycling to running.

Just wear dedicated running shoes for at least hygiene.

Newbie runners cannot handle running memes yet.

It's totally fine as long as your form is good. Check out VO2max productions on YouTube for running form tutorials.
Also make sure you are fully hydrated before a run and keep your nutrition good.
