How far would you go to have hair, /fit/?

>"Robert Jenkins was only 21 when he started balding. It was a condition he'd expected given that his dad had been bald for as long as he could remember. What Jenkins did not expect, however, is that he'd have to deal with hair loss at such a young age.

>"I had a lot of low self-esteem, I started to get depressed," Jenkins, now 28, says. "I wouldn't go to events. I would stay in the house because I was just embarrassed.""

>"Man weaves, more formally referred to as cranial prosthesis, hair replacement units or hair systems, are a non-surgical procedure to help men who've lost their hair — be it through just balding or thinning, alopecia or cancer treatments — "regain" hair."

>"A single installation of a man weave, including special custom made hair units, can cost from $275 to $800, so it's safe to say hair suppliers, hair stylists and barbers"

No need to be a bitch about it

This.

How hard is it to just shave your head?

If you really need some hair then grow a beard and stop trimming your pubes.
>>
I don't care anymore. Started thinning around 23 and now at 25 the thinning looks pretty bad around the peak.

I just shave it off with some clippers every 1-2 weeks.
>>
My dad started balding at fucking 19. He pulled lots of bitches all his life.

Cheated on my bitch mom, pulled girls barely half his age when they divorced, still getting lots of attention from girls barely out of their teens and he is 50 plus.

Not only is he bald but a manlet to boot. Not good looking either, really, has quite the gut. Just really manly and confident.

Also you'd thin the back of your head out too much to fix any real amount of balding with a dense result

I'm not going to get in to what I've done and haven't done, because this is the Internet and anyone can lie.

However. In my experience, balding has NOT affected the attention I get.

When I had a full head of hair I was a skinny (9 stone & 6 foot 4) runt. No attention wse.

Now a shaved head, well styled beard and 14.5 stone I notice a complete opposite with women.

Yeah, hairline and baldness are entirely different dice-rolls genetically.
For example, I have a ridiculously high hairline that looks like it's receding, but it's been that way all my life. My dad's 60 and hasn't lost a single strand of hair.
If your hairline is getting worse, you'll know. You can also start using minoxidil just as a precaution.
>>
>>41591767
alright mate, thanks
I have extremely thick hair, it grows extremely fast and every barber I've been to has made a comment on the thickness of the hair, which makes me think I wont bald

but at the same time my hairline looks like it's receeded even though ive had it for as long as I can remember (and im only 20yo)

I don't even think its the balding that upsets me so much, my dad used to joke about how I'd be like him one day but I just shrugged and thought I'd have it figured out by my 30s

But I'm 25 and with some hair loss I've lost all the confidence I gained when I was 18-21 and it's just because everyone else around me has perfect hairlines
It's just feels ridiculously unfair that people who are either great looking for their entire life never have shit happen to them and then people who are monster energy drink guzzling basement dwellers have full heads of hair.

If the number of people who begin to grow bald at my age was just a bit higher I'd feel better about it I think, like at least I'm not the only one.

Some people's heads just don't fit then bald. Getting these hair pieces is no different than wearing a push up bra, or wearing make up, or getting a boob job. Sometimes having hair makes men feel better and feel more confident. You don't have to accept going bald.

is it worse to be bald or a manlet?
>>
>>41592907

Honestly, it would suck, but youve got to own it. The major problem with people on this board is that instead of trying to become the best version of themselves, they latch on to some ideal image and try to compete with that. It is hopeless and leads to depression.

I know youve probably heard plenty of anecdotes, but I worked with a guy who was balding at 22 and slayed heaps. We joked about his hair like once a month but otherwise didnt really notice it.

Was he likely to become a model? No. Was he going to be rated 10/10 by sluthate? Also no.

Was he a happy, confident, normal guy with hobbies, interests, girlfriends and self belief? Yes.

I may not be balding, but I've worked through plenty of confidence crushing realities and what I learned is that you cant put your life on hold trying to fix them. If you CAN fix them, by all means work on it. But dont retreat into your room because of it. People are too busy worrying about their own problems to be focused on your baldness. Life is hard. 100 years ago, people werent able to worry about this stuff because every day lofe was literally a game of survival. 100 years before that it was even worse. People were focused on having food to eat and not being murdered over $1.

Being a manlet nets you a very high chance of being bald as well, so as much as I love my hair I wouldn't trade my gigantor status for it.

Even if I was gonna be like 5'8" and have a full head of hair, I still really love being tall.

>>41593114

Every baldlet in this thread should look into RepliCel.

I have some thinning at the top. Old fag now but I want to keep my hair because of the half dozen scars on my head.

It won't outright stop your balding but it can slow it down by a lot. It's also pretty common to find home shampoo rexipes that include coffee or caffiene. Many big name brands include it too.

I started to notice I was losing my hair when I was ~16. By the time I was 18 I started shaving my head, been 5 years now.

Losing it so young was definitely a confidence breaker, I was very self-conscious and went out less. Once I started shaving it, it wasn't so bad - but still, if I go out in public having not shaved in a week or so I feel self-conscious. I have had friends joke about it, but you have to learn to embrace it. For example, last Halloween I was Mr. Clean.

Balding young isn't the end of the world, but it would be naive to not recognize that it is a negative. While you may look great bald and /fit/, you would look better with a full head of hair and /fit/. While you may attract women being bald, you would attract more with a full head of hair. >>41590632 Isn't too far from the truth in how US culture views balding

If you are balding, I recommend you try shaving your head. As other anon's have mentioned, it doesn't look as good on some faces, however you won't know until you try it.

While having a shaved head + full beard can look good on some, in my opinion having a shaved head but keeping short stubble on your face (and shaving your neck) looks much better [stubble also is the most attractive facial hair currently compared to clean-shaven/bearded]

Get yourself a big mirror that you can hold, so that when shaving you can turn around and look at your reflection in the small mirror to the big mirror for missed spots

>>
>>41593114

Very good post.

There is so much naive self loathing and dysmorphia on this board; it's really saddening to see so many young guys getting bent out of shape because they're trying to stack up to the 0.01% of genetically blessed human beings.

You really should all be thankful for what you do have, thankful you're a man and thus able to assert your dominance in a wide variety of ways and get down to the imperative business of making the best out of what you've got.

Your vanity is fucking disgusting and truly pathetic when you get down to it. If you could let go of it for a day and walk the world without that narcissism on your shoulders you'd be amazed at how everyone doesn't actually laugh at you or hate you for being <6', bald, skinny, ugly or whatever.

Good looking people have the advantage, there's no dispute there, but that's not to say you can't do well for yourself if you just, for a fucking second, hold yourself up with some god damn self respect.

As far as women are concerned it's almost all about how you conduct yourself. You will not out compete an underwear model chad, stop trying to play that game because you've already lost... But you can attract a lot of interest just by being self-possessed and confident.
Exude dominance, confidence and self-worth and people will respond well regardless of how you look.

Don't forget it's relatively a very short time since we were all filthy, hairy, shit matted, stinking cave dwellers. Appearance mattered but selection was predicated almost solely on your actions and abilities. It hasn't changed much. If people sense or, even better, see that you are a person that can get shit done and thrive they will be attracted to you.

a bald manlet

if there is one thing black dudes actually have on white guys is that they look better cleanly bald and there isn't much a difference in terms of attractiveness between a bald black guy or a black guy with short buzzed hair

I have no idea why LeBron has been fighting for his hair so badly: he's a star, has a longstanding wife and children, and there are many other bald black dudes in the NBA rocking it easily, including MJ

Like clockwork. Why is a fit board full of these fags?

idk what you mean

you could either be a buttmad black guy or a buttmad /pol/tard

tbqh as a basically bald 23 yo who has been balding since he was 19, it's really fucking shit. It's as if you woke up one day with a scar on your face and everyday the scar gets bigger.
That said, if you are lucky with your head shape and skull you can get over it. I can't grow a beard for shit so Im a bit fucked

I love how everyones standard reply is
"Man up and shave your head"
Im one of the few who actually looks good shaved (handsome and nice head shape)
However this is 2017 and ill do whatever the fuck i want.
Wig technology has some light ages since the 80's
The lace they use now is invisible against my scalp and the glue/tape lasts two weeks before i need to remove/clean/reattach (all of an hour)
I have literally gone to get haircurs and even they didnt realize i was wearing a hair system
Yes, shaving my head was fine but after years of that shit i got tired and wanted something new
Now i can be blonde, red head, long, short ect and not to mention i look like a fucking GQ model
Women fucking love my hair
Anyways i recommend a unit from northwest lace if you have the balls to try a hair system, they have the best bleached knots i have seen so far

honestly my dad started thinning at around 40ish? my grandparents never lost a single bit of hair (same hairline from 18-90)

my hair is thick for now and i hope to keep it but if the time does come i will go buzz mode, not shaven bald but very close buzz

This. Both my grandfather and cousin went bald around 20-21. I'm turning 20 in June, so it's a possibility I've had to come to terms with.
