Anyone use a rice cooker to cook chicken with rice? I'm too lazy to cook with a pan every day seems like it would be nicer than microwaving it days after originally cooking.

Nigga, bake your chicken. Throw it in a casserole dish and bake at 425 for 25 minutes. You can't get more lazy than that.
>>
>>41568039
Also, I've found that cooking it at 375 for around 40+ minutes keeps it a little more evenly cooked and juicier, but I'm all aboard the bake train
>>
You could also slowcook both
>>

never do this

chicken should be pan seared first and then baked for under 20 minutes

you don't have to hate your chicken. everyone on this board appears to try to hate chicken breasts as hard as possible.

>>41568063
isn't even logical, baking things longer at lower temperature steams more of the water out and makes it dryer, not juicier.
>>

growing up my mom only ever made baked chicken and it was also SOOOOOOOO fucking dry, I had to drench that shit in so much plum sauce to make it palatable.

Frying it with a bit of olive oil is infinitely times tastier and even healthier when you don't need sugar sauce to make it half decent.

Use pressure cooker

InstantPot is the best

So I could dump rice + chicken + veg into this thing, leave it, then come back and have a tasty dinner?

I've looked this thing up, I might just get one.

The recipes I've seen all cook the chicken first before adding the rice, though. I'd rather be able to dump it all in and come back (so I can spend as little time in the kitchen with scary flatmate).

Would I be able to do this in the morning too? One of the videossays it doubles as a slow cooker/ will keep the food warm for 10 hours (though, wouldn't this ruin the food?)
>>
>>41567975
You're supposed to slow cook rice with an assload of water so that you can cut out 80 percent of the arsenic. Rice cookers are no good.

Here is an example of putting everything in the pot at once: http://www.superhealthykids.com/all-in-one-instant-pot-chicken-and-brown-rice/

You just have the saute the aromatics for a few minutes at the beginning.

Its great becasue everything is in one pot so barely any washing up.

Yes it doubles up as a slow cooker if you buy the more expensive model. But I recommend you use it as a pressure cooker as the food tastes much better. It only takes like 30 minutes. You can also put it on a timer so that it doesnt start pressure cooking for 4 hours, then pressure cooks for 30-40mins or so, then stays on keep-warm mode. You can keep warm for 4 hours or so I think. So thats one way of doing it so you can come home and have dinner ready.

rice cookers are fucking great. much better rice than boiling traditionally and much easier. takes 20sec set and go, wait for the ready signlal

probably because she overcooked it

my chicken breast never comes out dry and I haven't died from salmonella yet
