Can some amerifats explain this shit?

Who is this meant for? /fit/ neckbeards?I always thought this was fantasy stuff for children, but then people mention how 'the undertaker' had a winning streak of 21 and they go in on win% of fighters and such. I don't understand. Only autists and children don't know that it's scripted, so what weight does any of that even carry?

I saw a youtube vid, and it even -looks- fake as shit. Why do adults like it?? I don't understand
>>
Because its entertaining and the actual athletic ability that goes into it is astounding.

I don't even give a fuck about WWE but even I know this.

Are you intentionally being stupid to try and make a controversial thread, or are you really that incapable of basic critical thinking?
>>
>>41554920
this, it's entertainment in it's simplest form, everyone knows it's scripted, you don't go to see a Michael Bay movie because of it's realism
that said I don't watch wrestling but I can understand why people like it, although some do take it a bit to seriously

Well, whether it's entertaining or not is subjective.
But the 'athletic ability into it is astounding'??

You've got to be shitting me, right? How is rehearsed theatre gymnastics even remotely comparable to actual gymnastics, wrestling, boxing or MMA in general? Fuck you.

Don't get me wrong, it does require skill, but 'astounding'? Haha, fuck off mate. Here's your (You)

Wrestling is not fake, trust me I've seen this shit live and it's as real as it's gets.

Remember when wrestlers had amazing physiques(for people on the road 5-6 days a week) and were tough as nails?

Nowadays we all have these fucking limp wristed sissies with lovehandles and 13 inch arms in social media with absolutely no personality.

WWE is the highest form of entertainment

When they jump from a turnbuckle, they actually have to jump. Would you do that? Would you be able to do something like that knowing you're destroying your body? It takes a lot of dedication and work.

You wouldn't stand a chance
>>
>>41554904
I have friends that get together for the ppv's, for WrestleMania we had a huge bbq. It was great, we had a good time. I don't watch it like they do, but it's entertaining for the time being.

Stop your bitching, you sound like one those faggots that cries about people who watch anime, Vidya or that go out and get hammered on weekends

If you didn't grow up with it as a kid I can't imagine the lifestyle you had

>>

Maybe if you're from a white trash area. Not denying the guys are athletic. I remember watching it when I was in kindergarten and thinking it was really stupid and fake. It was way too over the top for me. I grew up in the time of Hulk Hogan and Macho Man and I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. Now days I can look back and laugh at it, but at the time I couldn't believe anyone could take it seriously. And that was my 5 year old brain.

Topkek, this has to be a troll.

Only a morbidly obese americunt who have never done a single workout in his entire life would think wrestling requires ANY FORM of "actual athletic ability"

Wrestling is fucking stupid and I'm an American. They need little to no athletic ability because they are helped with every move by the person they "hit". Literally they are caught by the guy they land on/run into/jump into. I used to watch it in college because it was comically stupid and they would constantly fuck up. A lot of Americans that watch it think it's legitimately cool. I once snuck into my neighbors house after they were evicted and left a ton of shit in the house... Including probably 200 wrestling tapes in a closet with nothing else other than a vibrator... And they had all sons. The other family I knew of that was huge into wrestling had a child molesting dad and the kids were all mentally fucked up (retarded, the daughter who he messed was fine but weird, shes my age). So I expect that they're all just screwed up in the head and can't understand that it's not real.
>>
>>41555529
Yeah I remember a bunch of retards talking about it every day in one of my high school classes... I'm not sure they believed the punching was real but they definitely believed the drama was real. I remember they actually thought Steve Austin was dead in some truck accident or something.

A lot of wrestling fans are also juggalos.

I still think the people that watch this shit seriously have mental issues.
>>
>>41555921
To be fair, the other guy is usually doing at least half the work. And it's about as impressive as any stunt in a movie or whatever. Cool, but not impressive like actual competative sports are, especially fighting sports.
>>
>>41555958
yeah the other guy jumps the same time he's being 'thrown'. The stuff they do, the falls, etc is impressive but so is stuff like circ du soleil, and you don't get 10k nascar fans screaming at it like it's a fucking jerry springer show. WWE is like a dramatized day time talk show, people that take it seriously are fucking morons end of story.
>>
>>41555986
Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Wrestling was okay when it had cool, macho characters like Austin, the Rock, Kane, Undertaker, etc. Now it's total garbage.

Yeah a 300lb guy falling from that far over and over does a ton of damage to the body. It's why they all get hooked on painkillers and die at 50. That and all the HGH and Coke they probably take for years doesn't help either.

I think the sport is stupid as fuck and looks retarded but even I know it takes a lot of skill to pull off and still hurts. Obviously it's fake, they punch each other in the face and you've never once seen blood spilled lmao. Anyway it's actually harder to train to do this without hurting each other than it is to just go in there and wail on the other guy. They have to learn how to throw and tackle without injuries. Pile drive someone wrong and they get paralyzed... That's a lot of trust to put in your fellow performer.
The people I don't get are the ones who talk about the outcome like it isn't predetermined... Come on people. It's just for entertainment (not that I enjoy it or watch but whatever.).

I think this pretty much sums it up. It takes skill, but if you take the theatrics and drama seriously and yell at your television you are part of the low class bottom feeders of society.

>you will never reach Ultimate Warrior mode

I think the biggest reason why Hulk Hogan still lives is that he never took same amounts of steroids as these other freaks.
>>
>>41557480
You really think he didn't?

I think he's still alive because he found a lot more of a career outside of wrestling and didn't fall into a depression like most of these guys do.
>>
>>41557500
Yes. He never was as big as many others in the show. This image is from 1985. He absolutely did steroids, but I think he wasn't blasting and cruising like many others.

Of course drugs abuse is a contributing factor, but many of those 80's wrestlers have died due enlarged hearts including both Machoman and Ultimate Warrior.
>>
>>41557592
Forgot to attach the image.

>>41557592
Yeah it's gotta be the job with one of the shortest life expectancies. It's living like a rock star combined with hurting yourself physically and taking steroids. even the women like Chyna die early.
