Should you add chin-ups and dips to Stronglifts 5X5? The program allows it, but I don't want to fuck with the simplicity. At the same time, though, I don't want to waste my time getting really strong and still have small arms. Thoughts?

Chin ups, PULL UPS, dips, and pushups

Yes, you idiot.

No problems in adding them, Id alternate weighted dips and weighted chins every workout, keep the reprange around 2x8 and use your last set to go to failure. Increase weight by 1.25 kgs every time you hit the 2x8 or more, decrease by 2.5 if you perform any less.

ofc you do chin ups and dibs you dipshit
Are they necessary, though? Will I still improve my arms without chin-ups and dips?

They will grow, but with the accessories they will grow harder. It will also help with other lifts and grip strength

It's perfectly fine in the early months and after deloading
Other than that, you generally want to save your strength for progressing
should avoid dips because you will just get fucked shoulders.
I made the mistake of doing SL without the accessories
don't be like me

Enjoy T Rex mode if you go longer than six months. Starting out its okay. After that, legs will suck the protein powder up like a five dollar Mexican whore - leaving your chest and arms with as much gains as she has education. So just build the fucking wall already.

I've been doing weighed dips for years (100kg x3 at 98kg bw is my personal best) and my delts are fine.
