Why do I have such a hard time leaning forward when doing dips? I'm trying to target my chest more and supposedly that's the thing to do. Also if you even think about redditspacing in my thread don't bother posting.

Lean forward. It's not that hard. If you can't do one, do a negative instead.
Also what the fuck is reddit spacing?

You need to stretch probably
Also don't lose tightness while dipping, it is bad for your shoulders
bring your legs forward, like you're trying to be a V

Put the weight belt so the weight hangs behind your body
I found it helps keep things upright
Upboated
Edit: thanks for the gold stranger!
dont worry about it you hit the chest no matter what
if it was only triceps it would look like a full bodyweight tricep extension

>Why do I have such a hard time leaning forward when doing dips
Dont think of leaning your torso forward, just push your legs backwards : it will naturally balance your torso forwards.
> trying to target my chest more
Yes it's a good exercise for your chest, a bit hard for shoulder health though

Kudos to you for realizing your problem and admitting it.
Your chest is weak and you should think about strengthening it first.
I think you should instead look into improving shoulder mobility.
Try doing some basic shoulder stretches.
I hope this helps you in your future fitness endeavors.
