keep your grip tight and dont be a pussy
Do exercises that'll strengthen your grip and forearm strength. For example, hold a light dumbbell at the pads of your fingers (like where your fingerprints are) and slowly roll the weight upwards using just your fingers. It's hard to explain but I'm sure you can find stuff online.

What do you guys do for dips though? I'm no fat cunt, but fucking hell doing dips hurts my hands so much. Am I meant to have them in a certain position on the bars where I'm not putting all my body weight onto the joocy muscle in my palm?

try to get some fingerless gloves

The wider the bar, the harder it will be to hold on. Use weight-lifting/fingerless gloves if you mean that you're getting friction burns. I'm a BJJfag so I hang my gi over the bar so I can work on my grip strength at the same time. You could try hanging a couple of towels or something. Remember, you just need to get your chin above your anchor point to make the exercise effective. Using straps/towels will also work other muscles as you maintain stability.

Just hang onto the bar for endurance.
