>at the age of thirty and onwards people lose 3-5% of their lbm per year

Holy shit. What's the fucking point if our gains are essentially fucked from 30 onwards?
>>

Look at all the lazy fuckers who are 30. They lose that from slowly growing lazier and fatter.

Just think how good you get to look in comparison
>>
A brief moment of power, beauty and superiority, before younger men beat the snot out of you.
>>
because they treat their bodies like shit

if you don't want it to happen to you continue to lift
>>
>>41371796
Nice cause and effect brah
>>
More like 0.3 to 0.5%, and that's if you're sedentary 100% of the time.

If you lift you (natty) you wont have any losses even through to your 70s.
>>
>>41371815
this is all nonsense
>>
>>41371796
That's if you don't work to keep them, silly billy. Your body adapts to being sedentary just like it adapts to lifting. If you aren't providing a stimulus for it to keep muscle, it'll metabolise it because maintaining it is quite costly in terms of resources.

If you lift and eat correctly you can continue to build muscle pretty much your whole life, though the diminishing returns rule and difficulty recovering as you get into your later years means that by the time you're in your 60s and you've been lifting for decades you'll effectively just be holding on to what you've built.

>be 33
>have made best gains in past 3 yrs
>>41371803
this. worst idea is to just give up.
>>
>>41371796
POOR DIET
SELF INDUCED IMMOBILITY
TEST CRASH
all things avoided or largely mitigated by active lifestyles. if you stay healthy and fit, a 65 year old man can naturally have the test levels of a 35-40 year old who's in decent shape. it's nowhere near eternal youth, and there's definitely a decline with age, but the decline can be slowed. if getting old is dropping from cloud 9 to your grave, staying active and eating right act as parachutes.
>>
>>41371796
using the conservative estimate: by 40, >26% lbm lost; by 50: >45% lbm lost

conclusion: this is moronic, you are a moron, sage this shit
>>
>>41371796

Sarcopenia is much slower for people who lift. You'll keep most of your gains well past 30s.
>>
>>41371796
>lose 3-5% of their lbm per year

So they lose all their muscle at 50 year old? How does the skeletal system support itself?
>>
To the romans, a man in his 50s was in his prime. And honestly, if you look at a 50y old man who takes care of himself, you'll often see raw strength and wisdom.
But as always, it depends entirely on you.
