Absolute broscience. JRE is not a credible source for anything... on anything.

Fasting will make it so your loose skin snaps back a bit faster than just traditionally losing it. I don't know the exact science, but during your fasting window is when it happens.

This is by no means some kind of miracle cure. You're undoubtedly going to have some loose skin, you'll just have less of it by the end.


That in mind, has anyone tried needle rolling stretchmarks? I'm considering picking up a piece.

I agree that JRE is not a credible source, but it's not exactly broscience. During periods of nutrient deprivation, your cells begin a process called autophagy in which they basically eat themselves for amino acids and other fundamental components. The last Nobel prize in medicine went to the guy who did groundbreaking research into this.

That being said, I don't know of any studies that have directly measured it's effect on loose skin. Anecdotally, Dr. Jason Fung mentioned that none of his patients had to deal with loose skin during their supervised fasting regimens.

If you're really hardcore though, you can eat 400 kcal a day like Christian Bale did for The Machinist, and then gain the weight back. He's pretty ripped now.

If you can go see your GP, might be something internal. But start with some wall push-ups, get those down and move on from there. Also, try different hand positions, and tracking your elbows with your body rather than out. I recommend grabbing the PDF of convict conditioning, it's got a really great bit of info on push-ups and their ascending difficulty, from wall all the way to handstand.

Maybe try alternate day fasting? Only one 500kcal meal every other day, and eat whatever you want on the days off. The weight loss will be slower, but I suspect you'd be more likely to stick to it.

I want to cry /fit/. He has no idea how much my weight has been a struggle my entire life. I lost 60 pounds and I'm still kind of fat but I go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week to get this shit out of my body and try and look good. Those comments are so unnecessary.

Also fuck him, I bought that candy for everyone. And people were working here overnight the past two nights. 24-hour candy withdrawal from the whole team. Fucking ass hole.

idk about that, when I was obese and first started running I got yelled at from cars more often than not (literally more than 50% of my runs). Now that I'm relatively fit, it hasn't happened in over half a year of 100+ runs.

I told my parents that they shouldn't be buying multiple bags of cheetos a week when everyone in the house is obese. My parents and I have been eating healthier/less respectively and losing weight but my brother is still a fat fuck.
Their solution was to hide the cheetos from me which takes away the temptation but it also means my fat brother is just going to keep growing.
Can't win em all, but it's the small changes over time that stick that matter so it's possible we've made a small difference without noticing it.

Something went wrong. She had pain so they did a second. Recovery took too long. She's 61 in a few months. She's been working, no joke, since grade school. I know it's hard on her but her weight is just crazy. She has refused to make the changes I've been asking for since jr. high. I'm almost 30 and all I've managed to change is getting her to buy 2% milk, and wheat bread. Those changes came when I was a kid and didn't know anything about nutrition that I didn't get from tv. All I'm asking them to do now is just eat and buy less bullshit.

PLEASE JUST EAT LESS. I have literally fucking knelt at my mother's fucking fat feet and begged her to please fucking TRY.

She will never. I feel so hopeless. This is my life forever. My brother will need me when she's gone. I want my own life and I'll have to try to correct her mistakes and have to take care of him and watch him suffer from the delusions and voices.

An average fat man can eat at 1500 calories and SHED weight off. So it's pretty obvious why some women lose weight slower. Even a slight deviation in their diet will cause huge setbacks. As a fat man you could easily go up quite a bit and not worry too much.

You don't give broad specifications like that for a guy who is not well versed in style. They don't have the trained eye or the expertise to understand what makes 'simple black shoe' look good. there are millions of shitty looking simple black shoes. And loafers are a bad suggestion for a total novice. You can't get away with a questionable choice of socks in loafers as easily as in a pair of regular laced shoes. Loafers even wouldn't be compatible with his wardrobe until he succesfully upgraded most of his items. What I'd recommend are the Postman oxfords (which are actually bluchers not oxfords) by Red Wing. Entry level as fuck so they don't look out of place when you're starting out but versatile enough so they don't get made redundant even if you decide to uphaul your whole getup.

Yo, start doing pushups against a countertop or low wall or railing. Give it 50 reps a try and see if that works okay for now.

You can always increase the angle by pushing off couch arms, sturdy coffee tables (THAT DON"T HAVE GLASS TOPS) or a stout chairs arm rests.

Also, you can play with static holds. Holding a position that is difficult. For me that position is at the bottom just before I'm fully down. So some days I just hold that position for as long as I can instead of pushups that day. Soon enough I'll be doing them full on the floor. I can already do a couple on the floor because I worked up to it.

I've been dieting for almost a year now but this latest diet is fucking intense. Almost no carbs and 90% vegetables/protein, with meals under 400 calories each. It does work but holy shit it's painful.

I really should figure out exactly how many calories some of these meals are as I've reduced everything down to the tiniest amount of calories. For example lunch today:

Root vegetables noodles (no calories)
Veg mince, vegetables like mushrooms, red onions
Dolmio sauce light
Tablespoon of parmesan cheese

All together I would guess this is 300 calories or something insanely low. It's impressive but really feeling the results.

I used to have to keep tums in my bedside table when I was fat and eating everything I wanted.

I started Intermittent Fasting (18:6) on Feb 11th. I totally forgot about heartburn until another anon brought it up the other day. I really think IF has made it go away completely, which makes sense when you understand what fasting is about. Rather than buying some pill, give it a shot. You're not just trying to lose weight, you're trying to improve your health. That includes digestive health.

Not to mention, weight loss with IF is like playing with cheat codes. I'm losing 15lbs a month.

Some running shops do gait analysis (Up & Running in the UK, for example) and they can help choose shoes that are good for you specifically.

Sorry m8, it's been 5-6 years since I've done it and I never really bothered taking any pictures. It did fluctuate a bit afterwards though and now I've at a state where I've regained 20kg back, so I just decided to go lifting for the first time ever.

What it boiled down was basically keto, I think, with a pretty low intake (yoghurt with strawberries in the morning, ~300g chicken breast at noon, a some fruits in the evening, with a bit of buffer for some snacks I'd maybe want) and about 90min-2h of cycling or swimming every single fucking day no matter what. It was arduous as fuck and I don't even know if it was the most effective thing I could do but at least it worked.

It's not that hard desu, I started by tracking my then-current diet and then finding places where I could swap out carby foods for fatty ones - milk for example, I ditched the milk and added 60ml cream (ignore that faggot above saying I shouldn't drink it because of the calories in it). I did this over a period of 3 weeks, and then went full keto 12 days ago. I have a list of different foods I can have for set meals and I just pick and choose as I want.

Write down the nutritional info for everything you eat too so you have a database of what is in what when you shop.

I'm loving keto - no hunger at all, I still have some cravings but I can deal with that.

Surprisingly, not so much. I'm forever stained with inner arms and a belly with stretch marks, though.
I am not really sure though on what somone would consider loose skin. I'd guess the general body type would be something inbetween the left and middle one in pic related, with less fat, but at skin levels near the middle one. It was fine when I was in semi-skeleton mode, but once you gain back some weight you suddenly notice how your whole fucking belly stalts folding everywhere and it's frankly kinda disgusting.

It's all about calories in calories out.
If you dont want PB than dont eat it. That's what's great about oats. They are very customizable.

But again, let's say you are trying to have a 500 calorie (or whatever) deficit a day. If your body naturally burns 1200 (or whatever) calories a day and you exercise burning 800 calories. You burned a total of 2000 calories and should only eat 1500 to reach your goal. Where you get those cals from does not matter (to an extent) when it comes to specifically trying to lose weight.

Intermittent fasting is very good. To get skinny in a sustainable manner, you need to do it with control though. I've made the mistake of going too dramatic. I recommend you use 23:1 intermittent fasting and eat 1400 calories or so. Also take a multivitamin.
