Of course it does. Gut bacteria are responsible for all gas in your gut that you didn't ingest and people don't normally swallow lots of gas. Fiber makes up almost the entirety of the bacteria's diet. There's very little protein, fat or carbs that makes it into the colon. Except when you have some illness.

The distribution of species of bacteria could be such that they produce particularly smelly gas. You could have a condition that's leaving more carbs or protein undigested and giving the bacteria a different diet than normal. The one thing you should try is reducing your fiber intake by a lot and seeing if there's any difference in the quantity or quality of flatulence. Another thing to try is changing your protein sources to different ones.
