Back in the day, yes. If you think modern psychology is how it was from the 1900's to about 1990 then you are completely wrong. It's essentially applied neuroscience now. In another 50 years it won't even be 2 different fields anymore. It's something that happens a lot in scientific fields. They were one, one broke off and has been drifting back towards the other.

While in the womb your mother's scenario will define what genes are turned on or off. If it's a famine then your children's gene for "preserve as much fat as possible" might be turned on. This means when they're born they will then absorb fat better than you normally would because it improves survivability in such scenarios. This is a very simple example but it's how epigentics work. Your mother's experience helps the baby be prodded towards the right direction.

This ultimately means that yes your genetics will influence your weight in the way they're saying (lets ignore personality evolutionary chains here) but that doesn't mean you have no control.

Our understanding of gender is social. Again the muscle cars and pink flowers being their respective genders is the social construct. When you understand (not choose nor being born with) your gender you seek things that reinforce it, like said cars and flowers. I tried this when I was fat. Doesn't work.

Fat acceptance is only as successful as it is because it's artificially tied to feminism. Without this available pool of already pissed off, gullible, narcissistic, idiots to blindly promote it, FA would have been dead in the water before it started.

When a well-meaning male tries to join the FA movement, he approaches it logically. That is he thinks about the arguments logically and even if he's rationalizing to come to the wrong conclusion, he's still attempting to approach and argue his point of view in a rational, quasi-scientific way.

This naturally enrages the feminists who are supposedly on his side. As a result, while they celebrate female fatassery, they consider male fatasses to be twice as "creepy" as normal dudes who aren't chad. Fat acceptance is a girls only club and well meaning boys who try and join must be dealt with.

While some fat dudes will continue to try in classic beta male fashion, most fat dudes figure out this glaring bit of dissonance relatively quickly. They then take the next logical step of hitting the gym and not being a fatass.

tl;dr for you redditfags: Fat acceptance is a girls only club. Guys that try it become ostracized by their "allies" and instead hit the gym and become real men.

I feel as though the distinction between gender ROLES and gender IDENTITY is an important one that not many people make. Sexually female, feminine-identifying persons (women) can perform masculine behaviors without masculine identity, and vice versa, so where does the identity come in? If both feminine gay males (queens) and MtFs have typically feminine behaviors, were socialized to be masculine and failed to do develop as such, AND both enjoy feminine objects/proclivities, why does one continue to identify as male/masculine and the other as female/feminine? What is the source of this division?

See that's my point though. If that's the case then where does the social construct play into that? If a gender identity is a social construct and has no biological basis then why does one person just "feel" wrong seemingly out of nowhere? That would imply something physiological and NOT something purely social.
