The most useful thing in terms of getting in is to actually enjoy your subject (or spend a lot of effort faking it). Having your own niche areas of interest, your own subject-related hobbies/projects, having some favourite historical figures you can talk about, that will all help a lot.

And obviously you have to put in the time to perfect the rote schoolwork.

I actually got into engineering there as well, but I just liked UVA overall better in terms of the area and atmosphere, also I'm not only into STEM stuff and wanted the extra options. I figured the difference in engineering quality wasn't big enough to make me choose VT.

Bournemouth as a town is pretty good, got everything you need, nightlife is pretty good too. If you do go, in first year do halls not a house: halls is live, and freshers lasts about a month. Go Dorchester though, its the best halls without a doubt. The uni is pretty decent as well, all modern, just got some yuge new building built.

What course would you be going for? Currently 2nd yr Finance and Econ, going into placement after summer.

Top notch for the population of the college. It has 200 ft climbing wall that can support 5 people simultaneously, 4 tennis courts, 2 racquetball/squash courts, 9 full court basketball courts (one is outside), and about 150 combined cardio machines including ellipticals, rowing, stair machines, a bear crawl machine, and treadmills. It also has an outdoor pool. The weight room has plenty of benches and squat racks and a dedicated room for free weights and EZ curls. It also has the full hammerstrength line of machines and also 2 of every cable machine you would ever want. It is semi crowded the first week of the school year and then it is glorious.

Be fun to be around and able to carry on a conversation. Don't chase one girl, if she doesn't like you initially, she most likely never will.

There's a network of university gyms in Hamburg, you can attend any of them as long as you are a student from one of the universities on the list. All gyms are pretty nice, nothing groundbreaking, but all equipment in good condition, variety, cozy interiors, nice people.
