In your experience, what program put on the most amount of muscle?
I ask because I'm down my second cycle of Madcow 5x5 and want a new program.

most are gross, some fewer are hot. In general I think most of them have shit genes tho
I've tried all the meme programs, and the best one by far IMO is doing a PPL on a clean bulk. I've been lifting for a long time, but after PPL it's the first time I've felt /aesthetic/

I wish I could do PPL, but any sort of quad exercise is out of the question for me for the time being. Do you think I should still do it, but just go light on L days?

Absolutely. Find what works for you for your legs. For instance, I don't do squats because of a weird hamstring thing I got when I played football.

The one you can stick to
Most internet programs are short term, 1-3 month things. Some are general like SS, others are peaking or specialist to one lift.
I've tended to a Hepburn type of programming bc it fits my time and mood. Everything's split to it's own day once the weight ramps high enough, but since the rep range and stuff changes as I stall out it's just a neverending cycle of intensity/volume.
Once you get past novice stages, choosing the right accessories for that point in time is what puts on muscle. As an example, right now I'm doing hammy curls on squat day. I've gotten those up a decent bit, and my squat has gotten more stable and stronger out of the bottom. Once I cycle off of that and go back to 20rep sets as a cooldown, my quads will blow up, and my 1rm will go up... then the process repeats with whatever my new weak area is
