Were you ever so close to snapping your shit up that it's a miracle you didn't?
>Be me today after my first boxing session in a while yesterday
>Hands and wrists very shaky at first but manage to do my Push day just well
>Decide to do shoulder press after OHP 3x10
>One of the very last reps on the last set
>While pressing my left shoulder suddenly gives in and is about to bend backwards with a 25kg dumbbell in my hand in an instant
>Luckily throw away that dumbbell on the ground instinctively
Wew lads, summer was about to get fucked up.
Me 2 days ago:
>doing ohp
>lmao1pl8 for sets
>almost lock out at top
>lose balance and weight goes behind my center of gravity
>split second decision I dropped it behind me and ducked under
>it was loud as fuck and everyone looked but at least I didn't snap my spine
I did I have a bulged disc it's taking a while to heal but at least it's not herniated

Holy shit are you me? This happened to me last Wednesday.
I actually was able to recover my balance and lock at the top (I "bounced" into position naturally), but for a split second I really felt that my lower back muscles giving up.

>OHP
>lock out
are you supposed to lock your elbows on ohp?
>>41169815
Mark Rippletits will say yes
However, lockout means something else to him. Just don't overextend your elbows.

this almsot happened to me once. i got caught by the "u got it" guy at my gym
>last set OHP
>115 babby weight
>struggle on last rep
>suddenly
>U GOT IT
>black man standing behind me pressing on my elbows
>i don't got it
>i don't even need to get it
>U GOT IT
>almost fall over backwards and splat him with 115 from altitude
>swing weight forward instead and catch it like a reverse snatch
>GOOD JOB BRO
>th-thanks man
>>41169815
If you have normal elbows, then lock them out. If either one can hyperextend, you will need to avoid lockout for safety sake.
According to Rippetoe, the key to lockout is in the traps ("the traps hold the bar" " always finish with a shrug")
Not lifting related
>wrestling practice
>upper back hurts from day before
>"power through it"
>doing a cheap tilt and I hear two pops
>can barely stand up. Can't walk
>back is still fucked and that was months ago
>can't go running without feeling fucked the next day
>ortho says I'm good
>feelsbadman
>>41168266
>on a run
>close to the end so not really aware of where I am
>step half into a pothole
>reflexively lift my foot
>go back after run and check out pothole
>It's 1 foot deep and 6 inches around
>Literally the perfect ankletrap
Cadio Jesus was looking out for me that day
Not me, but I did watch some skelly passing out
while doing Triceps Cable Pushdowns.
He fainted and a crashing sound was heard all over the gym
