What are you thoughts on James Grage's rep scheme?
For those of you who don't know here's the quick rundown:
>Set one, semi-warmup, semi-working set: 20 reps of an appropriately difficult weight
Set two: 10 reps of a higher weight
Set three: 10 reps, same weight as set two
Set four: 15 reps, same weight as set one
He emphasizes perfect form and adjusting the weights so that by the end of each set you're almost reaching failure, if not actually reaching it.
It doesn't really matter if you are natty
overthinking is hilarious.
just workout 3 to 5 times a week and increase weights often.

Don't do programs that somebody on steroids and with years of experience under his belt has.
Even Arnold ( who is not natty) STARTED with a beginner program in his first years
Do SS,SL, Greyskull LP, or something.
>insanely high reps as a natty
>he emphasizes perfect form
must be a /fit/izen

Is he on steroids though? He has an impressive physique and low bf% but I think it's more than possible that he's natty. If you watch the video where he competed you'll see he's actually not that huge in terms of mass at all.

>20 reps
>insane

try it and come back in a yr
i felt like i was overtraining when i was doing a 5 day/week brosplit with his routine.

anything above 3 reps is cardio
Actual good rep scheme for nattys on heavy compounds
warmup sets
progress from lowest weight to heaviest you can, if you have to cheat on form a bit on heaviest weights thats fine.
Take your last heaviest warmup set, run it through 1rm calc and go something like with form ephasis
60%rm x10
70%rmx 8
80%rm x6
85%rm x4
90%rm x3
or something along these lines

who knew people on steroids can recover faster!

out of these, which would objectively yield the best results without trex mode or unnecessary bulking?

Overall volume is the most important thing for hypertrophy. 20 reps is probably too high according to one study but volume being key is the thing to take away from this.
