My friends believe you need to do cardio and ab workouts to get a 6pack, when all you really need to do is eat less calories than you burn. How do i inform them they are simply fucking wrong?
Message them
Perhaps talk to them, using words
There are other methods

Prove it to them. Oh wait, you can't, because you actually need some muscle for abs to show, so you do need to train core.

Doing core exercises will do the trick, but you also need to lose weight so you can show them off

Cardio is a good way to lose body fat on the right diet, and yes you need ab workouts to get nice abs, its just not as important as a proper diet.

you need ab workout too
can't show what's not there anon

>you don't need to exercise abs, you only need to eat less to show them off
Sounds like
>you don't need to exercise biceps, you only need to eat less to show them off
Abs are muscles. You need to train them to make them look good.
I have a few buddies with bf% at around 15, and they still have somewhat visible abs because they actually train them.

You aren't getting abs without ab work. Just like if you cut down your bodyfat you'll see your biceps, triceps, pecs, etc. They won't be even close to decent though. If you want nice abs at a low bodyfat percentage, be prepared to build them just like any other muscle.
You're objectively wrong. Look at holocaust prisoners and try to find a "6 pack". It's not simply a matter of bodyfat like your premise states, if anything it's more muscle than diet, as people with high bodyfat can still have a "6 pack". See many powerlifters/bodybuilders for examples
Tl;dr: you're more wrong than them
