Lifting is 90% broscience. Post here all the memes and broscience you use and believe
>IIFYM
>foam rolling
>1 gram of protein per pound
>Back squats
>Conventional deadlifts
>Barbell bench press
The 3 biggest memes
Came to the gym for the girls, stayed for the men
>>41094868
this. dogmatic powerlifters are LITERALLY the worst people in the fitness community
>>41094845
Isnt 1 gram of proteion per pound correct?
Foam rolling made my legs huge, 72cm.
>>41094845
>Drink protein shake after your workout so you dont miss anabolic window
>>41094991
if you mean per pound of lean muscle mass
>>41094991
it's .7g per 1lb of lean body mass. you need like 100 grams not 200
whats wrong with foam rolling
>>41095100
Nothing.
The number one that gets parroted to this day is
>u dont need ab isolation just compounds bro
if you lift to get grills you need atleast 12 sets a week of direct abwork

A 600 pound fatlard doesn't need 600g of protein.
>>41095049
I unironically used to wake up at 4am just to drink a protein shake because I read on some random bodybuilding article that that is the best anabolic window to consume protein lol
>>41095167
Aren't anabolic windows memes in and of themselves?
>>41095121
>lifting for girls
do i even have to say it anon?
>>41094868
Bench is fine. Deadlift is fine.
>back squats
Huge meme. Fronts are x2 effective
>you need to get sore for gains
i do practice progressive overload. but nothing makes my arms bigger than supersetting biceps and triceps and swinging on the last reps. same goes for chest. multiple dropsets on flys until i feel like giving up on life.

>He thinks foam rolling is a meme
That shit is magical for injuries
>>41095166
Its per pound of lean body weight idiot
>>41095177
Yeah. There's no scientific consensus. Some studies find no difference. Some find a difference that's barely statistically significant. At this point it's just a meme used by the supplement industry.
Powerlifting in itself is a huge meme. Especially back squats since front squats are superior in almost every way. Diddlies are fine though.
>>41095227
I think competitive powerlifting/all the rules and specifics are a meme, but I care more about strength than I do aesthetics. Not sure where I belong in the fitness world.
>>41095185
Dumbell bench press is far superior for chest development and strength overall
>>41095185
Incline bench and romanian deadlift.
Front squat/hack squat + romanian deadlift is much better than back squat.
>>41094868
>mfw deadlifts made my back twice as big
But fuck deadlift, amirite?
>>41095676
Nice anecdote, better start deadlifting.
>tfw curls made me taller
But fuck curls right?
some people on /fit/ think it's broscience say that rep ranges are almost irrelevant because getting stronger necessarily increases mass
But I believe this and the results speak for themselves. Low-rep high rep set schemes build strength for me and whenever I'm trying to build mass I do higher rep ranges
>eating
>going to the gym
>sleeping

Chest development yes, strength no
>mental health
