How to cut, fit? I've started counting calories and trying to get 250 or 500 calories deficit, but I think I might be overestimating how many calories I'm eating, so I end up eating way less than I should and end up in a starvation state. I've gained like 2 pounds since I started dieting. Any tips you have to get shredded would be welcome.

Also, if I do a basic compound lift workout (deadlifts, rows, or squats and bench press, that kind of thing), how much should I increase my TDEE figures by? I figure a lifting routine like that only requires 250 calories.

Get a food scale and measure everything you eat and put it into cronometer, then you won't need to estimate

Food scale + myfitnesspal app. Takes all guess work out of calorie counting assuming you have an IQ above 75.

Not at all
Starvation mode does not exist. You should lose water weight immediately when you start cutting. Since that isnt happening you must be eating too much.

I lost weight at first when I started eating a protein heavy, but low calorie breakfast. Now that I'm actually calorie counting I'm gaining weight. I find my lunches hard to measure in calories but I'm eating the same breakfast and same lunches as before, and eating about 400 calories less for dinner each night, not sure what's going on.
Is starvation mode a real thing? Body's being a bitch about dropping fat.
Starvation state is a meme. Count your calories and eat at a deficit if at least 500 calories.

all right the more I read the more it seems like starvation state is a meme. Wondering if my body is just retaining more fluids, I started doing cardio-intensive sports and I'm sweating a lot, wonder if my body is compensating by retaining fluids.

>stops believing in starvation state
>starts believing in camel state
Just keep cutting, do more cardio, eat less sodium.
How long has this cut been going for?

A week lol. 2-3 pound gain isn't encouraging at all.
