2. Don't "walk with purpose". If you're anxious you've got fight or flight hormones in your system making you restless in public, so you rush. Slow down and force yourself to accept all the strange noises and sights. The more you try to ignore them the more annoying they get.

I think these types of anxiety that we are experiencing all go back to hypersensitivity. I think we are experiencing sensory overload. I wasted many years trying to figure out how to SEEM happy and healthy when instead I should have been wondering about how to actually become happy and healthy. The problem isn't other people's perception, it's our own state of discomfort. Other people merely pick up on you being uncomfortable in your own skin all the damn time. The latter is what needs fixing, not the former.
